God Save The Memes
My London meme trip in support of British Memelords

Sup memelords,
Last week I went to London on a “business trip”
And by “business trip” I mean I put memes all over the city.

BBC should hire me.
It was a fucking blast.
Not only I spent company money on stupid shit (shoutout Mercury for the credit card), but I also recorded it!

We’ll be pushing meme videos, tutorials, and more unhinged funny content there. So make sure you be the first!
Okay so what did I do in London actually? Let’s dive into it mate
Day 1
Arrived mid-day in London. The skies are gray because of course it is. It’s raining too.
Checked in at hotel, found a coffee shop near the Paddington station. Yes it’s the place where the bear live.
Ordered an Earl Grey Tea just like what Brits do. Sip a cup of tea. Reflecting the fact that I’m sipping a tea in London.
I couldn’t believe I am here. I was a poor kid growing up in Jakarta, Indonesia, and somehow making memes and being funny on the internet brought me here.

Lots of things to build, lots of memes to make, but I’m grateful.
Had dinner with a friend from college in Taiwan. Reminiscing how fucking crazy it is how we made it this far.
Had a hearty conversation, I explained to him what my job is and what memelord.com does.
Then he told me he almost joined the Lily Phillips 100 men line and how he regretted not doing that. His strategy would be to line up early and bring coffee to Lily. Funniest shit I’ve ever heard.
Walked back to the hotel. It’s still fucking raining. Made memes on the hotel bed.
Someone pinged me on Slack. It’s the X #1 Memelord, my co-worker and friend @nocontextmemes.
I’m meeting him tomorrow and he came up with a dank idea.

I love my teammates.
I’ll bet my life savings that we are genuinely the funniest tech startup team on Earth right now.
London I am arriving.
Day 2
Met the legend @nocontextmemes. Censored his face because none of you can take it. It’s like seeing the face of a biblically accurate angel.

Yes we walk around in London like this.
We headed down to our first destination: the Church of Scientology. Made a skit that I’m here to visit our biggest client.
Is this true? Is it just a bit? Is Tom Cruise actually an active memelord.com use? I can’t tell you unless you sign up for the software
Just listened to 3 hours of lecture at the Church. Is it useful? Let’s just say I won’t be taxed by the government for the next 20 years.
We then head down for lunch at the Cock Tavern. If you think British people aren’t funny, think again.

They serve good sausages.
Filmed more videos for our “business trip” (lol). Found out that Memelord.com is actually banned in the UK. What the fuck?

Absolutely disgusting.

🚨 Get viral with videos🚨
Building an audience on Instagram or TikTok? Meme videos are a cheat code
The problem is: sourcing meme videos on the internet sucks.
So we built a trending videos library in Memelord.com.

We scan the internet for the dankest meme video templates. All you have to do is edit or add caption, and boom.

Day 3
Tried to get Memelord unbanned in the UK but to no avail. Trying to figure out how to justify this “business trip expense” to Jason.
Met one of our Memelord.com power user and the Pizzaboy Dan. He’s probably the only Figma user in this world who can kill you with his bare hands.
Also made a new friend Gen Z friend who only talked in memes. Within 20 minutes of knowing her said “I made tons of 9/11 jokes but I wasn’t even born when it happened lmao.”
The kids are alright.
Oh she’s now unemployed so I made her walk around with Memelord stickers. I am a marketing genius.
Within 45 minutes of talking to Dan and Ana we’ve talked about:
Hating poor people
The logistics of Lily Phillips and Bonnie Blue “marketing stunts”
Hating French people
Went to Buckingham Palace to see if we can get Memelord unbanned in the UK.
No dice. We kept walking around and shot some funny videos.
We then keep talking and sticking memes all over London.

LONDON MEME-ING
It was a good couple of days in London.
The British can actually meme.
Up for a quickie?
Your idea to meme pipeline is now 10x faster.
Select a quickie meme, put captions, and boom you're done.
Make your own memes in less than 30 seconds, just like real quickies (at least my quickies).
Quickies in the elevator, quickies in the bathroom, quickies in your childhood bedroom. Anywhere you want anytime.

Support Your Bloody British Memelords
If you’ve been following Memelord for a while, you probably know make fun of the UK and British people a lot.
Not only because of the accent, but also because of the government ridiculous stance against memes and free speech

I’ve been living in the UK for 3 months now, and here’s what I found.
British people are funny as fuck.
I’ve connected with other memelords on X and LinkedIn, and these are the funniest people on earth.
Last week I talked to a Memelord.com power user and CEO of CompAI Lewis Carhart. He’s British in the USA, and he grew his startup via parody accounts and unhinged marketing stunt.
Satire and humor is rooted deeply in this country’s culture.
The Office was originally from the UK. South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have said over and over that Monty Python was a huge influence. Same with American comedians like Jim Carrey, Conan O’Brien, Judd Apatow. The list goes on.
This is a country full of Memelords and comedians.
But the government is making it suck for them.
The UK memelords I talk to actually love their country. So when I joke about “UK is arresting memelords,” I can see some of them get visibly annoyed.
Which makes sense. When someone talks shit about your country, of course you get annoyed.
But you also can’t deny that the UK government has made shitty decisions that make people think twice before posting.
In the UK, not all memes get you arrested.
Only what the government deemed as “offensive”
Freedom of speech created insane amounts of positive social change, gave minorities a voice, and helped topple oppressive governments.
13 years ago, the globally beloved Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson) made this point perfectly ago in his speech. At one point he said:
If we want a robust society, we need more robust dialogue and that must include the right to insult or to offend. And as, even if, as Lord Dear says, you know, the freedom to be inoffensive is no freedom at all.
My London trip made me realize something: we at Memelord.com should help our UK memelords be even more unhinged.
If you’re not British and you enjoy free speech, support your memelord friends from the UK.
If you’re British, keep making the good shit.
God Save The Memes.
Thanks for reading memelords.
Create some cool shit this week.
